Display only labels on a scatter plot

For example, plotting two values for all 50 states in an X-Y scatter plot. Rather than displaying a dot and labeling only outliers, remove the dot, and plot the labels (2 letter state code).

        This is a nice idea. On most charts it would be a god-awful mess, but for the right data it would enable a denser and less cluttered chart by allowing each point to be labeled without a ton of distracting dots and label lines.
